Running late but still want to feel like a person?
This toast is your five-minute glow-up. Creamy, salty, herby, and smug in the best way.
No blender.
No pan.
Just a fork, a ripe avocado, and a slice of bread that’s ready to carry the weight of your ambition.
🛒 Ingredients (for one glorious slice)
1 slice of bread (sourdough, rye, or whatever’s not sad)
1/2 ripe avocado (soft but not mushy)
Salt (generous pinch)
Chilli flakes (optional)
Black pepper (freshly cracked, obviously)
A squeeze of lemon or lime
1 tbsp finely chopped onion (for crunchy bites and brightness)
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp dried basil
A sprinkle of grated cheese (cheddar, parmesan, or whatever’s lurking in your fridge)
Optional drama: chili flakes, olive oil, poached egg, microgreens, toasted seeds, or a drizzle of hot honey


🔥 Method (a.k.a. the 3-minute transformation)
Step 1: Toast it like you mean it
Golden, crisp, and just shy of burnt. This is your stage.
Step 2: Smash with flair
Scoop avocado into a bowl. Add salt, pepper, lemon juice, chopped onion, oregano, and basil. Smash with a fork until creamy but still a little chunky. You’re not making baby food.
Step 3: Assemble and flex
Spread the green gold onto your toast. Top with cheese and anything else that makes you feel powerful. Take a moment to admire your creation. You’re basically a brunch deity now.
Take a bite.
Crunch. Cream. Tang. Herb. Cheese.
You’re awake now.
